Meet the Team
Christina Ellis
MSN RN & Head of Nursing at Heartful Homes
With 12 years of gerontology and hospice nursing experience, Christina, a South Central Kansas native, brings her expertise to Heartful Homes.
Starting as a CNA, she shifted from her initial plan of medical school to embrace nursing, driven by a desire for more patient interaction. After becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2009, she continued her education, earning her BSN in 2012 and transitioning to ICU before returning to her passion for hospice care.
Christina holds a Master’s in Nursing Leadership and Management from Walden University and over the past 9 years has worked in Nursing Manager roles. She actively participates in Professional Nursing Organizations. Residing near Derby with her family, she balances her career and family dedication with a love for horse-back riding.
Lon Flippo
Heartful Homes Operator
Lon Flippo has a Doctor of Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and boasts extensive pastoral and educational experience. He spent most of his career as a head pastor and recently as a chaplain. Prior to Heartful Homes, he spent two impactful years providing solace for patients at Riverwalk Hospice.
Certified as a Home Plus operator, Lon brings his diverse skills to create nurturing environments. With years of management expertise, he has proven his leadership capabilities and has a passion for care.
Lon was raised in Ottawa, Kansas and currently resides in East Wichita with his wife of 40+ years. His daughter and grandchildren live nearby and he enjoys golfing, spending time with his family, and traveling.
